About Tron

TRON, part of AJ Power Corporate Group, is a Latvian energy technology company building an intelligent energy management system (EMS) for electricity traders. Our platform connects distributed energy assets – industrial batteries (BESS), solar parks, cogeneration plants, electrode boilers, heat pumps – to real-time electricity markets, and automates the trading and balancing operations that keep the grid stable.

We manage 600+ MW of connected assets across dozens of active sites, including the largest solar park and largest electrode boiler in the Baltics. TRON integrates directly with AS Augstsprieguma tīkls (AST ), Latvia’s national grid operator, enabling full participation in Baltic balancing markets. The platform is live, proven, and expanding beyond Latvia .

The Role

We are growing our engineering team and looking for senior full stack engineers to become core members of it.

This is a role with weight. TRON is not a product searching for a market – it runs today, on real assets, in real markets, and the code you write decides whether a bid reaches the grid operator on time and whether a battery does what it was told. A missed 15-minute slot is money, and at this scale it is grid stability. Few products in Latvia give an engineer that kind of direct consequence.

The work spans the whole stack. On top, a professional interface for traders and operators – dense tables, live telemetry, market data updating continuously. Behind it, the services that plan, price and submit bids into Baltic balancing markets. Below that, a Rust layer that talks to industrial hardware on site. You will not be assigned a lane; you take a problem and follow it through all three.

We are a small team, so the people we hire now shape how the platform is built for years ahead. That is the offer: not a seat in a large engineering organisation, but a core seat in a proven one that is planning to expand across Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Build features end to end – interface, API, data model, tests
  • Develop the systems that plan, price and submit bids into Baltic balancing markets
  • Build and improve the trader-facing interface: dense data views, real-time updates, reporting
  • Contribute to the Rust layer handling on-site data acquisition and control
  • Own quality on production-critical paths – tests, performance, observability
  • Take part in architecture decisions and code review across the platform

Requirements
  • 5+ years of full stack development in production – a modern SPA framework on the front, a server-side stack behind it
  • Genuinely comfortable on both sides: you take the task, not the layer
  • Rust experience is a strong advantage; without it, real readiness to work in it – a systems background (C / C++ / Go) helps
  • Confident with SQL and data-heavy work – queries, indexing, large time-series tables
  • Judgement about data-dense, real-time interfaces. Generating UI code is cheap now; knowing what a trader must see on screen, and what must never move while they are typing, is not
  • Genuine curiosity about energy markets, grid infrastructure or industrial systems
  • Clear communication in Latvian and English
  • Disciplined and structured in how you work: you document decisions, leave code the next person can pick up, and finish what you start. In a team this small, there is nobody behind you to catch what gets dropped.
We Offer
  • €4000 – 5500 gross depending on experience
  • Health insurance
  • Flexible / partially remote work
  • A core seat in a small engineering team – your decisions shape the platform, not a backlog ticket
  • A product with physical consequences – your code controls real assets on the grid
  • Global product – from Latvia to European markets
  • Learning budget for conferences and professional growth
