About Tron

TRON, part of AJ Power Corporate Group, is a Latvian energy technology company building an intelligent energy management system (EMS) for electricity traders. Our platform connects distributed energy assets – industrial batteries (BESS), solar parks, cogeneration plants, electrode boilers, heat pumps – to real-time electricity markets, and automates the trading and balancing operations that keep the grid stable.

We manage 600+ MW of connected assets across dozens of active sites, including the largest solar park and largest electrode boiler in the Baltics. TRON integrates directly with AS Augstsprieguma tīkls (AST), Latvia’s national grid operator, enabling full participation in Baltic balancing markets.

The Role

You own an asset from the first technical conversation with the client through to a working, market-qualified site – and you do it end to end, on paper and in the cabinet.

That means you agree the signal list and the connection topology with the client’s integrator, you drive to the park and install and commission the TRON IPC yourself, you point-to-point test every signal with the client’s RTU and with AST, and you run the qualification test day. Same person, one thread, no handover between “the engineer” and “the manager”.

This is not a pure coordination job and not a pure field job. Expect roughly two thirds planning, client communication and documentation, one third hands-on work at substations and control rooms.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and run asset onboarding projects from the first technical assessment to a live, qualified site
  • Agree data and control requirements with clients: signal lists, measurement points, addressing, sign conventions
  • Design the connection topology per site: on-site IPC or cloud gateway, IEC 60870-5-104 or Modbus TCP, direct AST link or relay through the client's RTU
  • Install and commission the TRON IPC on site: mounting, power, networking, router and VPN, first connection to the park controller
  • Verify signals end to end together with the client's automation and electrical teams: read-back, sign direction, data freshness, actual telemetry
  • Prepare and run qualification processes with AST: test plans, scheduling, documentation, results
  • Own timelines and dependencies across several parallel sites, and be the single point of truth on their status
  • Be the client's main technical contact through delivery and after handover, and keep signal tables, topology and open items documented

Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent practical background in electrical or energy engineering
  • 2+ years in energy, industrial automation, or infrastructure projects – with real time spent on site, not only in the office
  • You can read a single-line diagram, build and review a signal table, and explain both to a client
  • Comfortable working in electrical rooms and switchgear areas; electrical safety group (Bz or higher) is a strong advantage, and we will support you in obtaining it
  • Driving licence (B) and willingness to travel to sites across Latvia, occasionally the Baltics
  • Able to run several parallel projects with external dependencies
  • Fluent Latvian and English
  • Disciplined documentation and follow-through – our failures are almost never big, they are one unverified assumption
  • Genuine interest in energy markets
We Offer
  • EUR 3200 – 4500 gross, depending on experience and electrical safety qualification
  • Health insurance
  • Company car or mileage compensation for site work
  • Full ownership of a project, from first call to a qualified asset
  • Exposure to Baltic balancing markets and a diverse asset portfolio – hybrid BESS, standalone BESS, PV, consumption units
  • Learning budget, and support for obtaining or upgrading your electrical safety group
